After two years at Freddie Mac, Malay Bansal joined BNY Mellon Investment on Oct. 20 as a senior portfolio manager in New York. Bansal prices and hedges loans originated for securitization by IH Capital, the conduit shop recently formed by BNY and Rob Verrone’s Iron Hound Management.
Bansal had been a senior director in Freddie’s multi-family securitization group in McLean, Va. He previously worked at Merrill Lynch from 1992 to 2008, holding a variety of roles in the CMBS group and heading commercial real estate CDOs. He had stints in between at New York advisory shops NewOak Capital and CapitalFusion.
